In order to take a 1-0 lead in the NBA Eastern Conference final, the Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, 123-116.
Jimmy Butler led the Florida team's offense with 35 points, while Jayson Tatum, the Celtics' standout, led theirs with 30 points.
The second game will take place there on Friday of next week in Boston. The Celtics and Heat faced in the Eastern Conference finals three times in the previous four seasons.
Miami defeated the Boston Celtics in 2020's NBA Finals in six games before falling to the Los Angeles Lakers.
However, the Celtics beat the Heat in seven games the previous year before falling to the Golden State Warriors in the championship game.
Tatum had just put on a performance that will go down in history. He set a record with 51 points in Game 7, which the Celtics won 112-88 over the Philadelphia 76ers to get to the championship.
Tatum had 18 points as Boston led 66-57 at the break. The Heat overcame a 13-point hole in the second quarter to deny the Celtics home-court advantage, and they outscored Boston 46-25 in the third to seize the initiative.
