When the 105th PGA Championship gets underway at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, on Friday, Eric Cole will hold a one-shot advantage going into the second round.
Due to overnight frost on the course, the first round on Thursday was postponed for over two hours.
However, the sun emerged, the temperature teetered on the edge of 60, and the weather was magnificent all day.
But around 8:30 p.m. ET, play was halted because of darkness. At 7 a.m. ET on Friday, the first rounds for eleven groups will be finished.
Organisers of the PGA Championship declared that the second round "will start on time as originally scheduled."
Justin Thomas, the defending winner, blasted a 2-over-par 72 and is seven strokes down in the second round.
