PGA Championship 2023 live updates: First round

The 2023 PGA Championship, which is being held at Rochester, New York's Oak Hill Country Club for the fourth time, has finally started after a brief weather delay.

Some of golf's top celebrities, including 16 players from LIV Golf, are starting their rounds on Thursday morning even if Tiger Woods is not among them.

There are 156 competitors, and the first two rounds will be played on Thursday and Friday in groups of three.

Kazuki Higa, the only player in the lead after four straight birdies, lost his first stroke of the day on his eighth hole, number 17.

He is still one stroke ahead of Callum Tarren in second place at 3-under par. The 32-year-old British golfer Tarren is in great shape as he begins his round.
