Man City vs Chelsea score, result

On Sunday afternoon, Manchester City defeated Chelsea 1-0 to win the Premier League trophy for the fifth time in six years.

Challengers Arsenal suffered a defeat at Nottingham Forest the day before as part of a late-season slump that has seen them win just one game in their past seven.

Following City's victory against Real Madrid in the middle of the week, Pep Guardiola made a number of changes for Chelsea's visit.

Frank Lampard, a former parishioner, and his troops provided a guard of honor before City immediately turned up the style.

The lanky Cole Palmer broke down the left before passing it over to Julian Alvarez. Palmer had relished facing Cesar Azpilicueta all afternoon.

Alvarez's spectacular rookie season, which has only gone unnoticed because of the otherworldly teammate he stood in for tonight, saw him score his 17th goal across all competitions.
