Dallas Stars stay alive with 3-2 overtime win against Vegas Golden Knights

The Dallas Stars claimed they were driven to prevent captain Jamie Benn from using his cross-check as his final action of the year.

After surviving at home with a 3-2 overtime victory in Game 4 on Thursday night, the Stars are halfway there.

With a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference Final, the Vegas Golden Knights will have a second chance to win the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday at home when Benn completes his two-game suspension.

Both of the Golden Knights' first two home victories in this series were determined by overtime.

The winner will be awaited by the Florida Panthers, who swept the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Stars needed their best players to step up and extend the series because they were also without injured forward Evgenii Dadonov, and they received outstanding performances.
