The Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 116-99 on Tuesday thanks to hot long-range shooting and a scorching third quarter.
The victory prevents the Heat from sweeping the series and sets up Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals for Thursday.
The Heat had a chance to finish the series at home with a 4-0 victory going into the game on Tuesday.
They had strong first halves, going on runs of 18-5 and 20-11 to lead 56-50 at the break. But after the break, Boston made its intentions clear.
With a 61-52 deficit in the third, the Celtics went on a 19-0 run over the next 3:04 to seize control of the contest. They had a lead of 70-62 at the end of the run, which they would not give up.
In addition to their long-range shooting, the Celtics also discovered their superior defense, which had eluded them in the first three games of the series but was a staple of their regular season.
